Bend In Style

Okay, y’all know by now that Victoria’s Secret is one of my very favorite places to shop because I’ve posted about it a few times (see What is Victoria’s Secret?). One of my very favorite products from there is the The Secret Garden Collection, which is a collection of uber scented body cleansers, lotions, and perfume sprays. See, I’m a bit obsessive about personal hygiene, meaning I’m quite serious about looking and smelling great always. (There are worse things to be anal about, no? lol) Therefore, I like to use the 3-part system in my daily hygiene routine: matching scented body cleanser, lotion, and perfume spray. In all my years of using this system, I have tried many 3-part products from different places and of all of the places I’ve tried, Victoria’s Secret has been my favorite. It may be more expensive than what you can get at a drug store, but I will tell you that you are definitely getting what you pay for because the VS brands smell so good and they really do make your skin very soft and smooth.

Below are my picks for the three best smelling scents from there:

Pear Glace’: I’ve been using this scent since I was a teenager. (Matter-of-fact, all the girls at school had this one-if one of us had something, we all had to have it. lol) This one is a blend of pear nectar, cassis & violet, with hints of muguet and sandalwood. It’s a very sexy scent, but I can’t really explain what it smells like because it doesn’t smell fruity or flowery to me at all. Pear Glace’ is one of Victoria’s Secret hottest sellers.

Amber Romance: I just bought this one a couple weeks ago for the first time and it seems to always get my husband’s attention when I use it (that alone makes it worth the money!) This one has blends of black cherry, creme anglaise and sandalwood. I would describe it as a warm, musky scent. Very romantic (hence the name Amber Romance, I guess!)

Berry Kiss: If you like fruity scents, then this is the one for you. This scent happens to be Victoria’s Secret’s current best seller in the Secret Garden Collection. It has blends of wild rasberry, praline and rose, but to me it smells like all berries, berries, berries! (In a good way).

Miss Marisa Tropical

I found love at first wiff in Hot Box Betty today. It was with Miss Marisa Tropical perfume oil by Ebba Los Angeles and it smelled absolutely amazing. Upon first sniff you get a fruity-coconutty scent, but it boasts notes of other yummies such as mango, ginger, peach, waterlilly, and casis. I think a lot of tropical perfumes can be really generic, basically making you smell like suntan lotion. Miss Marisa Tropical is not like that; it makes you smell very sexy and sensual.  Really!  I felt all flirty when I put it on. The only problem I had with it was that it is $62 for a 0.5oz roll-on bottle. Hefty price for a half an ounce of liquid. I decided to go home and search around online and see if I could find some for cheaper and everywhere I looked it was all still $62. At least at Hot Box Betty I won’t pay shipping. I just have to decide if it’s worth it to me.  (I soooo think it is! I do I do! That’s what my nose says anyway.)

You can get Miss Marisa Tropical at Ebba Los Angeles, but you can also try a sample for $4 at Lucky Scent, as well as the 0.5oz roll-on for full price.
